How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age on Xbox has no button or password cheats. Its extras come from finishing story chapters and Evil Mode missions.

| Evil Mode chapters | Progress through the story; each cleared chapter opens a playable Evil Mode version under More on the title screen. |
| Gap of Rohan and Balin's Tomb missions | Complete the game once. |
| The Board is Set mission | Complete Balin's Tomb and the Gap of Rohan on Hard. |
| Last Alliance mission | Complete the game in Evil Mode. |
| Haldir | Beat the Black Gates level on Hard. |
| Shagrat | Beat the Black Gates level on Hard. |
Sword of Isildur: Clear the Osgiliath chapter of Evil Mode on an early save to earn this 200 plus damage sword, which lets Berethor hit for thousands at the start of a new game.
Morgul blade: Clear the Western Moria Evil Mode chapter, where you briefly control the Balrog, to earn one of Berethor's strongest early swords.
Item farming: Items won in Evil Mode battles are saved into whichever save slot you choose, so replay chapters to stockpile Elf Medicines and elfstones.
