How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Steel Battalion's cheats are entered on the game's bespoke 40-button controller, mostly on the tuner dial and centre console.
Unlock all VTs and missions in Free Mission mode: at the title screen, turn the tuner dial to each of these positions in order, holding each for one second: 1, 9, 7, 9, 0, 9, 0, 6. Treat the dial as a clock face where 0 sits at the 9 o'clock position and 4 at the top. A sound confirms correct entry.

| Black and white graphics | Complete Mission 23 on Veteran or higher, then press Start + Night Scope during the mission loading screen to toggle colour and monochrome. |
| Desperado difficulty | Complete Mission 23 on Veteran. |
| Full screen mode | Reach Lieutenant Colonel rank with 550,000 Command Points, then press Ignition + Start during play to hide the cockpit. |
| Infinite fuel and ammo | Log 100 hours of play and complete the 2080 campaign again, then press Start + Magazine Change during the loading screen. |
| Juggernaut VT | Reach Colonel rank with 800,000 Command Points. |
| Quasar VT | On Mission 7 or 17, enter the small room on the left of the enemy base's second floor, destroy the defending VT and flip the switch on the large box. |
| Rapier VT | Earn ten decorations. |
| Jump flight | Complete Mission 23 on Magnum Force or higher, then press Start + F3 during a mission; chain jumps to gain height. |
| No Fall mode | Complete Desperado mode, then press Hatch + Start during play and your VT will never fall over. |
| Movie viewer | Complete the game on Normal difficulty. |
| Voice select | Complete the game on Veteran difficulty. |
Pause trick: unplug the controller from the console mid-mission to pause the game, then reconnect it and press Start to resume.
