Shenmue II Cheats
How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.
Shenmue II has no cheat codes, but there are several secrets and bonuses hidden in the game.
100 missiles in Afterburner: while playing the Afterburner arcade machine, reach level 3 and press Left and X together. Your missile count jumps to 100.
Shenmue Side Story comic: in the Shots viewer on the main screen, photos are sorted into categories including Secret. Complete a page of the Secret category to unlock the Shenmue Side Story comic, selectable from the gift box in the corner.
Bad ending: like the first game, Shenmue II has a bad ending if you take too long. Let the in-game date run to the end of June 1987 and the scene plays when Ryo goes to bed. Repeatedly failing the Zhangyu Barber's QTE is the quickest way to reach that date.
Duck race: during the chase through the Lai Lai Eatery, miss the QTE so Ryo crashes into the waitress carrying a tray. After collecting your bag, compensate her at the Eatery to receive a bronze medal, then beat Eileen and Izumi on the third floor of the Pine Game Arcade for the silver medal. Talk to Izumi at the Tomato Mart to enter a duck race, catch a falling feather while catching leaves with Xiuying to get your own duck, and win the race for the gold medal.
