Prototype Xbox 360 Cheats
How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Prototype has one official cheat code plus a pair of difficulty unlockables. To enter the code, select Extras at the main menu, choose Cheats, then input the sequence; a message confirms correct entry.
Body Surf ability: Enter Right, Right, Left, Down, Up, Up, Up, Down at the Cheats screen to unlock Body Surf, letting Alex Mercer leap onto a human enemy and ride them along the street.
| Unlockable | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Hard mode | Complete Story mode on Normal difficulty. |
| New Game+ | Complete Story mode to replay it with all of the powers and upgrades you have already earned. |
EP trick: If you are just short of an upgrade, earn the EP you need, buy the upgrade, then kill yourself and restart from the checkpoint. You keep the upgrade but get back the EP total you had at that checkpoint.
Events: Gold and platinum medals in the optional events award large EP payouts and feed the Au and Pt achievements, so clear them before finishing the story if you want to max Alex out.
Water towers: Destroy the Infected Water Towers before they hatch across Manhattan for easy EP and the Misconception achievement.
