How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

In NASCAR Thunder 2004 the name cheats are case-sensitive and entered in Create-a-Car under Features on the main menu, while most other unlocks come from your EA Bio level or winning races.

| Buster Auton pace car | Reach level 28 in your EA Bio; the pace car is damage-proof. |
| Alternate paint schemes | Win a race on the medium, hard or extreme difficulty setting to unlock a paint scheme for that driver. |
| Exhibition and alternate event races | Win a race on medium, hard or extreme difficulty to unlock an extra race for that track. |
EA Bio bonuses: Additional Thunder Plates are unlocked by uploading an EA Bio from other EA Sports 2004 titles such as Madden NFL 2004, NCAA Football 2004 or March Madness 2004.
