How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

NASCAR Thunder 2003 cheats are entered as driver names under Create-a-Car. You do not need to save the car for the unlock to register.

| Extra Drivers | Unlock the fantasy drivers, who appear in yellow. |
| Dale Earnhardt | Unlock Dale Earnhardt Sr. and receive his Thunder Plate. |
| Richard Petty | Race as Richard Petty. |
Thunder Plates: Complete the challenges in Thunder Challenge or Lightning Challenge mode to earn new Thunder Plates. Plates are awarded randomly, so the same win can give a different plate from game to game.
Tiburon Speedway: Use an Xbox memory card containing a saved game file from any EA Sports 2003 title, or complete any Lightning Challenge, to unlock the Tiburon Speedway track.
