How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

MechAssault has no reliable button cheats on Xbox, but completing the campaign earns you the game's two best 'mechs for multiplayer.

| Ragnarok | Complete the single-player campaign to unlock it in local multiplayer. |
| Ymir variant | Complete the campaign on any difficulty; it is unlocked alongside Ragnarok and trades heat efficiency for even more firepower. |
Invincibility (widely listed, temperamental): During the campaign, pause the game and quickly press L, R, A, B, X, Y. Reports are mixed, so treat this one as unverified.
Size Matters shortcut: In the second part of Size Matters, do not fight the nine or ten 'mechs at the end. Run straight past them to the mansion, drop a chaff on it to soak up the missiles, then open fire. Better still, bait the helicopters into crashing on the 'mechs, or kill the middle 'mech so its explosion chains through the others.
Instant kills with scenery: Shooting out a bridge or building while an enemy stands on or next to it destroys them instantly. The same applies to you, so watch your footing. You can also pre-weaken a bridge; it smokes at the far end, then the middle, then near you, and a couple of shots will finish it. This works in multiplayer Grinder matches too.
