How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Mafia on Xbox has no cheat code screen; everything is unlocked through play. Free Ride expands as you progress through the story, and there are a few classic exploits worth knowing.

| More Free Ride cars | Break into cars during story missions; each car you steal becomes selectable in Free Ride. Cars earned through Lucas' body shop jobs after certain missions also carry over. |
| More Free Ride locales and times | Progress through story mode to open extra cities plus day and night options for Free Ride areas. |
Free repairs and car selection: At the start of Free Ride, drive forward onto the street then reverse back towards the gate where you began to open the car selection screen. Picking your car again also restores its doors, windows and bodywork to new.
Ditch the police fast: Get inside a trolley, a rail station or an elevated rail station and simply wait until your wanted level subsides.
Easy money: The gangsters in black suits and black hats are worth $500 each. Driving taxis pays steady cash, blowing up vehicles earns an extra $100 a pop and holding 130 mph on the road earns quick money too.
Killing gangsters: The safest way to take out the men in black is to walk up behind them and use the shotgun.
Make traffic vanish: Hold Down on the right stick to look in the rear-view mirror. Distant traffic, especially on the connecting bridges and tunnels, disappears and clears the road ahead.
Shoot off tyres: With a Tommy gun aim at the centre of a wheel, on the lug nuts, and fire away to shred the tyre.
