How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Madden NFL 09 on the original Xbox shares its engine with the PS2 release rather than the Xbox 360 one, so features such as EA Rewind, Madden IQ and the Virtual Trainer are not in this version. Madden Codes are entered at the Madden Code screen in all capital letters and work at any time, even mid-franchise. The zeros in the codes below are digits, not the letter O.

More card codes: Every player card in the game has its own Bronze, Silver and Gold password entered the same way. The six cheat-effect codes above are the most useful of the set.
Fantasy Challenge: The headline mode on Xbox. Draft a custom team and work through the leagues, beating each champion in the Champions Stadium to advance to the next tier. This is where most of the game's unlockables sit.
SuperSim: Sim a single play, a quarter, a half or the entire game to speed through Franchise seasons.
QB Avoidance Stick: Use the right stick while your quarterback is in the pocket to slip pressure before throwing.
