How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

L.A. Noire has no cheat codes. Below are the collectible newspaper locations, the unlockable outfits and hidden cars, and a few investigation tips.

Avoiding bad choices: during an interview you can get up and walk out of the building, which forces an autosave. If your choices then go badly, quit back to the system home screen and reload to restart the interview from that save.
Chase tips: hold the camera focus button while chasing a suspect on foot or in a car to keep them in view. Close in on foot and press tackle repeatedly to bring them down. In car chases, pull alongside so your partner can shoot a tyre, or slam a rear wheel to spin them out; a T-bone at an intersection also works well.
Junk clues: cigarette butts, booze bottles and similar items at crime scenes are a waste of time and exist only to throw you off.
Landmarks: 30 golden film reel landmarks are dotted around the map, including Union Station, the Bradbury Building, Angels Flight, the Brown Derby and the Musso and Frank Grill.
Red Dead Redemption easter egg: in the Silk Stocking Murder, after following the blood trail onto the roof and examining the body, check the alley behind your car for a trash can containing a cowboy hat that belongs to John Marston.
