How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

The Hobbit has no cheat codes on Xbox. Bilbo's equipment is found in fixed spots as you progress, so here is where everything lives, plus a few handy tricks.

| Walking Stick | A chest in Bag End in the first level. |
| Throwing Rocks | A grove of apple trees on a hill in the first level. |
| Sting | The troll treasure cave at the end of the third level. |
| Overhill and Underhill scroll | Directly in front of the firewood hanging on the cliff. |
| Troll Hole scroll | Down the path after the opening FMV sequence. |
Pole Jump: While moving forward, quickly press L then A to vault with the walking stick. Keep it for long jumps once you have Sting, since it can overshoot short hops.
Fighting Spiders In Mirkwood: Stay up on the rocks and pelt the spider's minions with thrown stones. If you run out, slip on the Ring and sneak to more rocks before she hears you.
Cut Webs With Other Items: In the spider sisters' lair, choose something other than Sting before freeing the dwarves and Bilbo will cut the webs with his walking stick, stones, or even his bare hands if you wear the Ring first.
