How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Halo 3 has no button codes on Xbox 360. The hunt is for thirteen campaign skulls that unlock gameplay modifiers, achievements and the Hayabusa armour set.

| Blind | Sierra 117 (silver): the HUD and weapon model disappear. |
| Iron | Sierra 117 (gold): dying in co-op restarts the level. |
| Black Eye | Crow's Nest (gold): shields recharge only through melee hits. |
| Grunt Birthday Party | Crow's Nest (silver): Grunt headshots explode with confetti. |
| Tough Luck | Tsavo Highway (gold): enemies dodge grenades and projectiles. |
| Catch | The Storm (gold): enemies throw far more grenades. |
| Fog | Floodgate (gold): the motion tracker disappears. |
| Famine | The Ark (gold): picked-up weapons carry less ammunition. |
| Cowbell | The Ark (silver): explosions hit much harder. |
| Thunderstorm | The Covenant (gold): enemies are promoted to higher ranks. |
| I Would Have Been Your Daddy | The Covenant (silver): unlocks hidden dialogue. |
| Tilt | Cortana (gold): enemy resistances are strengthened. |
| Mythic | Halo (gold): all enemies have double health. |
Skull hunting: Start each level from the beginning on Normal or higher and press X in the campaign lobby to activate found skulls.
Hayabusa armour: Collecting campaign skulls unlocks the set for multiplayer, the chest at 5 skulls, the shoulders at 9 and the helmet at all 13. The Katana back piece needs all 13 skulls plus 1,000 Gamerscore.

Recon armour: Earn the three Vidmaster Challenge achievements from the Mythic map packs.
Mythic map skulls: Sandbox's skull is out towards the sunset, Orbital's sits on top of the right-hand structure at the roadblocks, and Assembly's hides on the central tower.
Terminals: Seven hidden terminals unlock the Marathon Man achievement, three on The Ark, three on The Covenant and one on Halo.
Easy Legendary: Turn on an idle second player in co-op and you will respawn on death instead of restarting the level.
Infinite Spartan laser: On the Halo mission, shoot Sergeant Johnson until he drops his laser and pick it up; he produces a fresh one each time he gets back up, so repeat to stockpile unlimited laser shots.
