How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Director's Cut has no cheat codes. Everything below is unlocked by finishing the game on each difficulty or clearing Mission Mode.

| First ending, Mission Mode, Gallery, Ghost List, Feel and Expand camera abilities | Finish the game on Easy or Normal. A new game then carries over your maps, items and camera abilities. |
| Hard Mode, two alternate costumes and glasses for Mio | Finish the game on Normal. |
| Alternate ending, Nightmare Mode, Album option, true ending sequence, two costumes and the Stop lens | Finish the game on Hard. |
| Alternate ending, two more costumes, the Crash lens, development documents and the Promise sequence | Finish the game on Nightmare. |

Easy Fatal Frame shot: Let a ghost grab Mayu. While it holds her you can take a Fatal Frame shot at point-blank range without it dodging.
