How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Dead Rising has no button codes. Bonus weapons and outfits are earned by completing the game with certain achievements unlocked, then appear in shopping bags behind the air duct exit in the Security Room on your next playthrough. Finish the playthrough to the credits or the unlock is lost.

| Mall Employee Uniform | Answer all calls from Otis. |
| Mega Man Boots | Get the true ending without being knocked out. |
| Mega Man Tights | Defeat at least 10 psychopaths. |
| Prisoner Garb | Steal the convicts' jeep. |
| Pro Wrestling Boots | Break at least 100 items. |
| Pro Wrestling Briefs | Defeat at least 1,000 zombies barehanded. |
| Real Mega Buster | Defeat at least 53,594 zombies. |
| Special Forces Boots | Defeat at least 15 psychopaths. |
| Special Forces Uniform | Repel the helicopter. |
| White Hat | Photograph at least 50 survivors. |
Overtime mode: Finish all the cases in 72 Hour mode and be back at the helipad by noon on the 22nd to earn the true ending and unlock Overtime mode.
Infinity mode: Complete Overtime mode to unlock Infinity mode, where Frank must survive as long as possible while his health slowly drains.
Light the night: When darkness falls the mall gets pitch black. Carrying a toy laser sword from the toy shop gives Frank a permanent light radius, even without swinging it.
