How to use these cheats
Button names refer to the Xbox controller — A, B, X, Y, the LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers and the D-pad. Unless told otherwise, enter codes from the pause or options menu, or while playing. Some cheats disable achievements for that save — keep a separate save before you start.

Area 51 has no button cheats on Xbox. Its extras are secrets, unlockables and one hidden weapon upgrade.

| Hard difficulty | Complete the campaign on Normal difficulty. |
| Gray multiplayer avatar | Complete the campaign on Hard difficulty to unlock a Gray alien as a selectable multiplayer avatar. |
| Final secret | Collect every other secret to unlock the final secret on page 5. |
Secret tapes: Scan all five databank items in a stage to earn that stage's secret, and complete the game for one more.
Alien grenade upgrade: In the Life or Death stage there is a small key on a dead soldier in the lift where Cole starts. Grab it to open the stage's small lockers; one locker in the first power conduit pit holds a databank item that upgrades the alien grenade so it homes in on enemies.
Hidden warp: In The Grays, go into the fourth room where the monorail is visible through the window and use the computer. When Lift Activated appears, go outside to the monorail, stand on it and run to the back to warp to a new room.
Blast the turrets: In Buried Secrets, once Cole has beaten all the enemies in the big turret room, run straight at the turrets until you hit the gate, then aim up and shoot until they blow up. They cannot rotate far enough to fire back.
