Nightmare mode: Complete the game to unlock Nightmare mode. In addition to increasing the combat difficulty, there will be sixteen additional Manuscript Pages to collect.
Xbox 360 easter egg: When the doctor asks you to go back to your room at the start of Chapter 4, search the room across the hallway from your door to find an Xbox 360.

Position: Your character, Alan Wake, sometimes lingers in the center of the screen despite you clicking on the movement stick. To move him to the side of the playfield, press the viewing stick all the way left or right until Wake rotates completely once. This should push his body to one side and you can see what the hell is in front of you.

Note: This requires a smartphone with the Microsoft Tag app. Play Episode 4 and find the modern art painting on the top floor of the lodge. Capture that image and read it with Microsoft Tag.

Space” achievement hint: Head to the area with the airplane and jump on its wings to reach the lower level. Drop from the plane, then go to the left of the furthest wing (towards the front of the plane). Once you reach the rock wall, find the slightly hidden hole. Go through and follow the path along the cliff side to reach a cave with a giant typewriter. After Alan is finishes speaking, go on top of the typewriter to read a paper that reveals more of the storyline.: In Alan’s New York Apartment and a few other locations throughout the game, examine bookshelves
Max Payne easter egg: One of the titles is “The Things I Want” which is a chapter title and monologue sequence from Max Payne 2.
Weird restrooms: In episode 3, when you must find the keys to the car, at the end when escaping from the nature center, instead of looking in the Men’s room look in the woman’s room. None of the stalls have toilets. Achievements
