What it is

Sesame Street: Friends & Fun is a family-focused 3D narrative adventure from Outright Games, developed by Infinigon, arriving in the UK on Friday 9 October 2026. Designed for preschool children, it places players in a bright, recognisable version of Sesame Street where light puzzles, minigames and simple exploration are used to teach early numeracy and social skills. The game supports one or two players in local co-op and lets you customise a resident, personalise a home and help the neighbourhood prepare for a big community celebration.

Story and setting

You play as the newest resident of Sesame Street, moving into the neighbourhood just as everyone is preparing for a community party. The narrative is intentionally gentle: tasks and set-pieces are organised around helping neighbours—Elmo, Grover, Bert and Ernie are specifically named—so the arc is less about conflict and more about working together and learning through everyday activities. Outright says locations are “safe and welcoming” and inspired by the TV show’s familiar street, houses and community spaces.

Education is woven into the scenarios rather than presented as standalone lessons. The publisher describes the experience as story-led and exploration-driven for preschoolers, with interactive moments that introduce early maths concepts and other foundational skills through play.

How it plays

Gameplay centres on third-person exploration, short activities and a collection of minigames and interactive tasks tied to the story. Players customise their own character, can personalise a home on the street, tend small gardens and join residents in simple chores and mini‑activities such as cooking or planting to help prepare for the neighbourhood celebration. The first official gameplay trailer (26 August 2026) emphasised approachable controls, character interactions, and a variety of bite‑sized activities suitable for very young players.

Multiplayer is local only: Outright and the developer state the title supports one player solo or two players in local co‑op (a grown-up, sibling or friend can join on the same machine). There is no publisher confirmation of online multiplayer at launch; all official materials describe two‑player local co‑op and family‑friendly group play in the same room.

Platforms, editions and UK specifics

Outright Games and the developer Infinigon list the release platforms as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a UK release date of 9 October 2026. The game appears on Steam, the Xbox store and on Outright’s site as a multi‑platform release; Infinigon’s studio pages also credit the team as lead developer. PEGI has been shown on publisher pages as PEGI 3, consistent with the content and target audience.

No UK price or retail edition details have been published by Outright at the time of writing, nor have any platform subscription inclusions (for example, Game Pass or PS Plus) been confirmed. Pre-order availability and retailer SKUs have not been announced in official UK-facing materials.

Trailers and what they showed

The game was announced by Outright on 12 June 2026 with an initial trailer that established the tone, release window and platforms. A gameplay trailer released on 26 August 2026 provided the first meaningful look at the systems: customisation options, third‑person exploration, a variety of short activities/minigames and the party‑preparation narrative. A subsequent feature/angle trailer in late September broadened the emphasis on friendship and inclusive play, but did not add new technical details such as online services, DLC plans or pricing.

Trailers consistently highlight accessible controls, positive reinforcement and design choices targeted at preschoolers rather than challenge or competitive mechanics.

What we still don't know

Confirmed details are limited to platforms, the developer/publisher, PEGI rating, the UK release date and local two‑player co‑op. Important items left unannounced by the publisher include UK retail price(s) or confirmed RRP in pounds, whether the game will appear on Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation subscription services at launch, any post‑launch DLC or season plans, and whether online multiplayer or cross‑play will be added later. There is no official confirmation of system‑level features such as performance modes on PS5/Xbox Series X|S, cloud saves, or accessibility options beyond the basic ‘intuitive controls’ claim.

Not yet confirmed

  • Whether the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or other subscription services at launch.
  • Any UK RRP or pre‑order retailer bundles/editions and physical vs digital-only availability for each platform.
  • Online multiplayer beyond local two‑player co‑op or plans for post‑launch online features.
  • Platform-specific technical modes (performance/resolution) and accessibility option details.
