What it is

Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition is a modern refresh of Ubisoft’s 2011 2D platformer, rebuilt for current hardware with visual and quality‑of‑life upgrades. Story and setting

The game retells the original Rayman Origins narrative: the Glade of Dreams is under threat from Darktoons (the Land of the Livid Dead) and the Fairy Council summons Rayman, Globox and the Teensies to restore balance. The Enhanced Edition does not change the story beats — it restores the base game’s levels and characters while adding new gallery material and collectible-driven extras (mosaic unlocks, relics and expanded Snoring Tree content) rather than new campaign chapters. The publisher’s materials specifically call out archival concept art and “origin videos” unlocked via new collectibles.

How it plays

Gameplay remains the limbless, run‑and‑jump side‑view platforming Rayman Origins is known for: tight movement, character‑specific quirks (Rayman, Globox and co.), co‑operative play and musical stages. Ubisoft’s feature list for the Enhanced Edition confirms 4K textures and a target of modern resolution and frame‑rate improvements. Quality‑of‑life and accessibility additions announced by the developer include skippable cutscenes, togglable running, full remappable controls, haptic support for compatible devices, Murphy’s Assist (hints and audible cues for hidden items) and new heart types (Gold and Diamond) that alter how many hits you can take. Collectibles have been expanded: relics and mosaics from handheld builds are returning, more standees and an expanded Snoring Tree gallery let you track progress and view concept art inside a playable gallery level.

Platforms, release and the UK angle

Ubisoft lists the Enhanced Edition for PC (Ubisoft Connect and Steam), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, and it will be included with Rayman Legends Retold. Ubisoft’s June announcement said Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition would be added to purchasers’ libraries at launch; a subsequent schedule change by Ubisoft moved the wider Rayman Legends Retold launch window. As of the latest publisher and store updates, Rayman Legends Retold and the included Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition are scheduled for release on 3 December 2026 (UK date). Ubisoft’s official feature post is the primary source for the Enhanced Edition’s feature list; SteamDB and multiple industry outlets have the current December 3 release listing for the package. PEGI rating and UK RRP for the Enhanced Edition or the bundle have not been published by Ubisoft at time of writing; retailers and Ubisoft Store regional pages should be checked for final UK price and pre‑order offers.

What was shown and when

Ubisoft first revealed the package during the June 2026 State of Play period: the Rayman Legends Retold announcement included confirmation that Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition would be bundled with the new remake. A gameplay trailer for Origins Enhanced appeared in mid‑2026 showing the updated visuals and some of the UI/collectible features described by Ubisoft, and Ubisoft’s detailed “All you need to know” post (June 2026) enumerated the QoL, accessibility and collectible changes. After the June reveal the publisher later announced a schedule change for Rayman Legends Retold (and the associated bundle) moving the launch to 3 December 2026; industry coverage and store metadata reflect that updated date.

What we still don’t know

Online functionality for Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition is not clearly confirmed by Ubisoft’s feature posts: the developer repeatedly highlights local co‑op (up to four players in Legends Retold) but does not state whether Origins’ multiplayer will include online matchmaking or online co‑op at launch. UK‑specific details remain unannounced — final PEGI classification, certified UK RRP(s) for boxed and digital editions and which UK retailers will carry exclusive pre‑order bonuses. Any separate standalone release plans (if Origins Enhanced will ever be sold independently from Rayman Legends Retold) are unconfirmed by Ubisoft and should be treated as such.

Not yet confirmed

  • Whether Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition will support online multiplayer (Ubisoft has only confirmed local co‑op in public materials).
  • Final UK RRP and retailer pre‑order packages/physical contents for the standalone Enhanced Edition (Ubisoft has not published regional pricing).
  • Whether Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition will ever be sold separately from Rayman Legends Retold in the UK, or remain exclusively bundled at launch.

Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition: your questions

Is Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition included if I buy Rayman Legends Retold?

Yes — Ubisoft has stated the Enhanced Edition is included with Rayman Legends Retold; recent store listings and Ubisoft messaging show Origins Enhanced will be bundled with the Retold release.

Will Origins Enhanced run at 4K and 60fps on Series X/PC?

Ubisoft’s announcement lists improved textures and modern visual targets (4K and higher frame‑rate options), but exact performance modes per platform and PC system requirements are published closer to launch; expect platform‑specific settings on PC and performance/quality modes on consoles.

Can I play co‑op online with friends?

Unconfirmed for the Enhanced Edition: Ubisoft’s public details stress local co‑op. The publisher has not explicitly confirmed online co‑op or matchmaking for Origins Enhanced at launch, so assume local couch co‑op unless Ubisoft updates this.

When can I pre‑order and what will it cost in the UK?

Ubisoft’s regional store pages and major UK retailers will list pre‑orders and prices — at time of writing Ubisoft has not published UK RRP for the bundle or a separate Origins Enhanced standalone price; check Ubisoft Store UK and retailer pages for confirmation.
