What it is

Attack on Titan 3 (styled A.O.T. 3) is Omega Force’s next single‑player action entry in Koei Tecmo’s long‑running Attack on Titan games. Announced and shown in multiple trailers through 2026, it is presented as a definitive retelling that covers the manga/anime saga from beginning to end while adding new playable story content, a custom protagonist, squad management and expanded expedition‑style missions. The build shown so far refines the series’ omni‑directional mobility combat into faster, more stylised encounters against standard Titans and the game’s larger ‘Nine Titans’ set pieces.

Story and setting

Koei Tecmo says the game covers the Attack on Titan story from its opening chapters through to the conclusion of the franchise. Trailers and publisher pages present the familiar cast — Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Hange and others — while making a new, customisable protagonist the player avatar who joins the Survey Corps. New story arcs and ‘brand‑new content’ are explicitly promised alongside reimagined scenes from the earlier games and the anime.

Publisher materials make clear the title is intended as the series’ culmination in game form: the narrative is supposed to carry the player all the way to the saga’s dramatic climax, including confrontations with the game’s marketed ‘Nine Titans’. The presentation so far uses Japanese voice work with multiple subtitle/localisation options listed for Western releases.

How it plays

The core loop is familiar to the franchise: high‑speed omni‑directional mobility (ODM) combat around enormous set‑piece opponents, combined with hack‑and‑slash melee and mission objectives. Koei Tecmo’s trailers emphasise a stepped‑up feeling of speed and style, larger battlefields and expanded expedition missions beyond the Walls, plus squad‑based elements and character customisation. Save‑data bonuses for those with previous Attack on Titan 2 saves are confirmed.

All official platform pages and the publisher’s product pages list the game as one‑player offline. No co‑op, competitive or other online multiplayer modes have been announced by Koei Tecmo; the product pages list a single‑player player count only.

Platforms, editions and UK price

Koei Tecmo’s official product pages list PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam as launch platforms, with the PC and consoles all shown on official regional pages. Editions confirmed on publisher pages include a Standard edition and a Digital Deluxe (publisher details list the digital deluxe contents: digital art book, extra outfits and customisation items, equipment packs and a 72‑hour early access key for most versions). The publisher also lists larger physical ‘Treasure’/‘Special Treasure’ boxes in Japan; UK physical retail listings show a SteelBook/Launch edition in some shops.

Official UK/retailer listings (Game Collection, Rarewaves and other UK retailers) show typical physical RRP listings in the £59–£73 range for standard and launch/collector variants; digital deluxe price points seen on platform stores and publisher pages are higher (retailer and regional pricing varies). The publisher states the Digital Deluxe includes up to 72 hours’ early access (note: the Switch 2 version and some upgrade packs were specifically called out as not including the early access key). Check your chosen UK retailer for exact prices and availability.

Trailers, showcases and what remains unconfirmed

Key publisher material and trailers: initial gameplay trailer published by Koei Tecmo in July 2026 (official gameplay reveal, 2 July 2026) and the August 2026 announcement confirming 10 December 2026 availability and further details; the title has been present at trade shows (KOEI TECMO / Tokyo Game Show presence noted). Publisher press pages and the official product pages contain the most authoritative breakdown of edition contents and bonuses.

Unconfirmed items include an official PEGI classification for Europe/UK (regional boards not yet published at the time of writing), final PC system requirements and official UK storefront price pages from major platform stores in GBP. There is also no publisher confirmation that the game will appear on subscription services (Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus) at launch.
